David Harr - Leadership in Facilities Management at Notre Dame

A business consultant from Hilliard, Ohio, David Harr previously held administrative leadership responsibilities with the University of Notre Dame for more than three decades. As associate vice president for auxiliary and facility operations, he oversaw a wide-ranging portfolio of enterprises that provided a foundation for academic and research initiatives, as well as for student life. David Harr had a key role in ensuring high standards of campus hospitality and customer service across dining halls, the bookstore, sports facilities and concessions, and laundry services.

Mr. Harr notably contributed to an “Advancing the Vision” initiative that reallocated and unified operational and administrative components of campus dining, resulting in major cost savings. He also renegotiated bookstore contract extensions in ways that generated substantial new revenue and improved academic and retail offerings.

Mr. Harr also engaged with architects, hospitality consultants, and interior designers in envisioning an ambitious Morris Inn renovation and expansion project on campus. The resulting AAA Four Diamond hotel includes 150 rooms and offers a distinctive, welcoming ambiance. Early in his career, he was part of the Inn American Corporation team, where he worked at branded hotels and properties across the country.
